Forest Mushrooms offers dried mushrooms from many different sources, varying from Maitake and Porcini mushrooms harvested in the hardwood forests surrounding our farm in central Minnesota, to imported products from around the world.  We have over 40 years of experience in growing and sourcing mushrooms, and have full confidence in the integrity of our supply chain.  We are fortunate to have partner farms and foragers in the US that can supply us with USA grown dried mushrooms in many cases, but we do rely on imports from Europe and from China in order to offer the variety and quantities needed for our customers.  All organic mushrooms offered by Forest Mushrooms are Certified Organic by the USDA under NOS (National Organic Standards), even those imported from Europe or China.  We understand that some customers will have concerns about products from China; we have had no food safety issues with Chinese products through our 40+ years of importing, however.  The Chinese are by far the most expert and prolific cultivators and foragers of mushrooms in the world, and Chinese mushrooms often offer the best value and best quality.
