Dried Maitake Mushrooms

Dried Maitake Mushrooms
Maitake mushrooms form a tan to gray cluster of "petals" or fronds on a central stalk. When growing in the wild at the base of oak trees, they resemble a hen with ruffled feathers, and are often known as "hen of the woods." Maitake mushrooms add a distinctively rich flavor to egg dishes, tempura, pasta sauces, soups and stews. Similar to shiitake mushrooms, they are delicious paired with chicken.

good

This is easy to cook and has good flavor. Since it is soft type, need to put at end of cooking cycle to maintain its flavor, else taste and texture will not be noticeable. In addition it comes in clumps many 3-4 in size, it's preferable to break it up in pieces prior to cooking. Keep in freezer will retain its freshness.

Great product a bit hard to find in this form in the UK.

Great value except postage adds a bit to the UK but I shared my order with a friend so it wasnt so bad. Lovely fried when reconstituted in a bit of butter and olive oil with salt pepper and minced garlic add a splash of lemon juice if you like. Am also hoping that their medicinal value assist with my treatment. Thanks for a great service and good comms.
